One of the best known and most instantly recognizable supermodels of the 1990s, Kate Moss is perhaps best known for her extremely slim look - a look that became so famous, it gave rise to the so-called "waif" or "emaciated" look for models. Kate Moss was born near London on January 16th, 1974 and at school tended to excel at sports rather than academically. Moss has also branched out into the arts, publishing and the music business. She published The Kate Moss Book in 1997, which was a compilation of photographs selected by Moss herself from her fashion and modeling years; she has also starred in several rock music videos. She has appeared on TV on documentaries and comedy shows in both the UK and the US.

In early 2006, the controversial British sculptor Marc Quinn designed a sculpture of Kate Moss depicted in a Yoga position - one of her latest interests. Moss has also reportedly adopted Buddhism after discovering its benefits during a rehab session.
